ALBION ENJOY THAT (ESH) WINNING FEELING

RACA’s fine recent form against Esh Winning continued in a largely uneventful game at West Terrace. Manager Nathan Beckham made four changes from Wednesday night’s starting eleven but his side barely laid a glove on the Stags’ goal in the first half, though the hosts created very little themselves.

The second half picked up a bit & Albion almost took the lead on 57 minutes when recent signing Matthew Harrison beat his defensive marker & fired in a shot from a difficult angle, his effort beating Esh keeper Harry Alderson, but the ball crashed off the far post and away to safety. The 64th minute saw two key events which ended up deciding the outcome of the game. Firstly Stags forward Charlie Twinn was quick to react to a Ryton defensive mix up, picking up the loose ball but firing just wide, then from the goal kick, Albion pushed forward & Harrison was on hand to score his first goal for his new club which proved to be the winner. Thereafter the hosts never looked like equalising & RACA saw out the rest of the game to inflict a fifth successive victory over Esh.
