Ryton & Crawcrook Albion secured their first win under manager Nathan Beckham with a comfortable 2-0 win over Washington at Kingsley Park on Saturday.
Thomas Ions gave Albion the perfect start scoring from the penalty spot inside 10 minutes after being brought down by the goalkeeper. Despite dominating most of the play in strong windy conditions, the hosts had to wait until early in the second half to double their advantage and wrap up the win with Ions getting his 7th goal in as many appearances.
After a 2-1 defeat at Chester-le-Street Town in Beckham’s first game in charge last week, it was a much-needed win especially with all the other teams around Albion in the table all winning.
