Costello hat-trick helps Albion to big win

Aaron Costello scored a hat-trick as Ryton & Crawcrook Albion recorded an emphatic 7-1 win over Brandon United at Kingsley Park on Wednesday.

Albion started strongly and Richard Hoggins gave them a 12th-minute lead with a well taken goal. The visitors found an equaliser midway through the first half from Lennox Magalheas but Costello edged the home side in front on the stroke of half time with his first goal of the night.

An incredible three-goal blitz in three minutes from the 67th minute from Fergus Lynch and two further strikes from Costello extended the lead.

Substitute Ryan Smith added a sixth with 10 minutes remaining while Joseph Groves-Forbes wrapped up the biggest win of the season in the closing stages.

The win – third in seven games – took RACA up to 12th in the Ebac Northern League Division Two standings. Nathan Beckham and Andrew Waugh’s side will travel to Billingham on Saturday to face Yarm & Eaglescliffe before a trip to Chester-le-Street Town next Tuesday.
