The Northern Football League’s two cup competitions, including the Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup, have been cancelled for the 2023-24 season due to the backlog of fixtures caused by scores of postponements. In all, more than 110 games have been postponed. The League Management Committee announced the decision on January 7, 2024, following several weeks of league and cup matches being postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
