Albion edge 7-goal thriller for first win
Ryton & Crawcrook Albion edged a 7-goal thriller with a dramatic last-minute Robbie Williamson strike to secure their first win in the Ebac Northern League Division Two.
Luke Drummond (8) gave visitors Billingham Synthonia an early lead at Kingsley Park. Graham Williams (63) and Damien Stevens (74) turned the game around. Daniel Chapman levelled (79).
Rhys McLeod (87) put Albion ahead again but Chapman (92) cancelled it out before Williamson’s 95th-minute winner.

First home game ends in stalemate
Ryton & Crawcrook Albion were held to a goalless draw by newly-promoted Chester-le-Street United at Kingsley Park on Wednesday night.
Daniel Iredale’s side, who opened the Ebac Northern League Division 2 season with a disappointing 5-1 defeat at Easington Colliery, dominated the majority of the chances but failed to break down a determined visiting defence.
The best chances for Albion included Robbie Williamson heading an effort onto the post and Craig Hennis and Damien Stevens were both denied by brilliant saves by Matthew Pattison.
At the other end, Sam Harrison kept out a dangerous Ethan Gray free kick.
Both teams finished with 10 men with the sendings off of Williamson and Sam Johnson 12 minutes from the end. The latter cynically bringing the Albion man down, which then caused a melee.
On Saturday RACA welcome Billingham Synthonia to Crawcrook.

Albion held by Winlaton in final friendly
Ryton & Crawcrook Albion were held to a 1-1 home draw by neighbours Winlaton Community in their final pre-season friendly on Friday evening.
Winlaton – coming off a crushing 17-0 home defeat to Whickham six days earlier – took the lead at a packed Kingsley Park as an unmarked Tumas headed the Vulcans in front after 20 minutes.
Damien Stevens managed to find an equaliser for Albion with a lovely lob just before the half time interval.
Despite pushing in the second half, neither side could find a winner as the game ended all square.
The draw means its been a mixed bag of results for Daniel Iredale’s side this pre season. A draw with Alnwick Town (1-1) was followed by a 2-1 win at Edinburgh United, then back-to-back defeats at Sunderland RCA (0-2) and at Burradon & New Fordley (1-2) before today’s match.
Goals from all the matches will be available to watch on RACA TV on YouTube with match photos available on the official RACA Facebook page.
The new Ebac Northern Football League Division 2 season begins next weekend with RACA scheduled to visit Easington Colliery on Saturday 30 July.
