Lee Waugh strikes twice as Ryton & Crawcrook Albion come back from behind twice to beat Esh Winning 3-2 in the Ebac Northern League 2 on Tuesday, including a stunning 85th-minute free-kick winner.
The hosts led through Jonathan Swift after 37 minutes at a very wet WindowsPlusRoofs Arena. But Albion managed to find an equaliser before half time when Waugh scored from the penalty spot after Aaron Costello was fouled in the box.
The home side – without a point so far this term – went ahead again with 22 minutes remaining when Aaron Jackson found the back of the net with a decent effort. However, Albion got back on level terms with a Fergus Lynch strike seven minutes later and then found a late winner when Waugh brilliantly curled in a 25-yard free kick.
The win moves Nathan Beckham and Andrew Waugh’s side up to 13th in the league with a trip to top-of-the-table Blyth Town coming up on Saturday.
